SUSTAINABLE, HEALTHY LIVING EVENT 2025
As part of the councils support for climate change awareness and the environment, the Sustainable, Healthy Living event was held in Meon Vale on April 12th. This is the second year of hosting the event alongside the Meon Vale Residents Association and were delighted with the day’s activities. Attendees enjoyed a variety of activities including a seed and plant swap, learning about the local Eco Group, and clothing repaired by Stratford Repair Café. The event featured exhibiting stalls from Net Zero Stratford (promoting Carbon Literacy Training), WCC’s Food Strategy, and information on sustainable household cleaning (effective alternatives to chemicals-based products). Culinary enthusiasts were treated to vegetarian curries made by Mike Lok during his Masala Spice Masterclass. Educational talks were also held on garden biodiversity by Lucy Hartley and crop research Prof. Rosemary Collier from the University of Warwick’s Crop Centre.
The Sustainable Healthy Living Event was a resounding success, bringing together community members to learn, share and celebrate sustainable living practices.
