GREAT BIG GREEN DAY

The Meon Vale Great Big Green Day is a free event aimed at all ages! Most scientists now agree that we are in a climate emergency and that actions need to be taken now to avoid the further loss of biodiversity, but what can we do about it on an individual and local level? Come along and find out!
On the day, in the village hall, you will find stands with information about energy, food redistribution & plastic recycling, biodiversity (what is it), the Zero Shop Stratford and charities including Hedgehog Friendly Town, Warwickshire Badger Group, Forest of Hearts plus much more. Speakers will include Nick Martin looking at wildlife in our gardens, reducing food waste (Warwick University) and others, there will be an environmental quiz – come and win our eco-hamper worth £150 and pick up some free samples like shampoo bars.
In The Pavilion Cafe there will be practical activities for families and children in conjunction with the local school, make a toad abode or hedgehog house.
If you prefer outside fun there will be a guided nature walk by ecologists around the woodland exploring various habitats and a visit to the Meon Vale local wildlife site. This event is supported by the Meon Eco Group, Marston Sicca Parish Council, Meon Vale Residents Association, Warwickshire County Council & Stratford District Council.
